Perth Tour 26th August-01st September 2010

Michelle and I landed in the Perth Airport at 12.40 pm, 27th August. We checked in at Citigate Hotel. According to Michelle’s good friend, winter and spring are the ideal times to rug up against the chill and enjoy the spectacular views of the lovely corner of Perth.
Around 9.30 am the next morning, we started the day relaxing in the University of Western Australia over wonderful breakfast. The campus environment is tremendous. Many people say that Perth is the best city in the world. After the 6 days of wonderful tour, Michelle and I would like to strongly support that Perth is a real nice place for us to choose to live. We have deeply fallen in love with the calm and peaceful environment and earnestly hope that we’ll be able to live and work there one day.
For the more energetic people, Perth is a perfect place to stroll along the beach. We have been to Sorrento which is an awesome place for relaxation. Seagulls were flying up the sky while we were enjoying eating the famous delicious fish and chips in Sorrento. The Perth metropolitan area offers plenty of the drawcards, from the eclectic streets of Fremantle to the serenity of the Perth Hills. The awesome part of Perth would be the superb white sandy beaches and banks of the Swan River which offer long walks, swims and beautiful waterside dining.
On the 28th August, we visited places such as Kings Park, Harbour Rise and Margaret River. Wildflower Festival is the famous annual celebration in Kings Park. We were so impressed with the beautiful scenery and snapped some photoes of the Queen Victoria’s Status. Kings Park demonstrates the colourful displays of native wildflowers through out the Park’s Botanic Garden. This beautiful Park also provides community activities to suit all ages. We enjoyed our shopping in Fremantle which is a multicultural centre.
Swan River is just 25 minutes drive from the city. Swan Valley possesses fine wineries and the oasis of calm is dotted with breweries, restaurant, galleries and picnic sports. In fact, there are more than 150 restaurants for the visitors to enjoy their food. Swan Valley is also wellknown for wine testing. There are many grape farms in this valley and we have our wine testing in Sandalford Wine.
Bunbury is another nice place for weekener, or even a daytrip out with walks, cafe stops and beach activities. The beautiful developments at the Marlston Waterfront are worth the visit.
Before sunset, we visited the Margaret River Chocolate Company and bought some chocolate as gifts and souvenirs. Margaret River is a vibrant centre with relaxed atmosphere. This region is recognised as one of the world's finest wine producers. Margaret River Central has award the winning restaurants and inspiring galleries. The Geographe Wine Region in Perth is famous for their tradition in producing quality semillon, sauvignon blanc and shiraz. Many of the region’s wineries have received praise for their mediterranean varieties. At night, we have our dinner at the Chinese restaurant and the taste of food was wonderful.
On the 29th August, we drove down to Busselton. There are only four big beachside resorts in the South West and all are located in Busselton. This is a perfect place to go for beach fishing or sight seeing. We enjoyed ourself with the scenic walk, snapping of photos of the pristine white sand and sparkling of water. The 140-year-old jetty is the longest in the Southern Hemisphere. At night, we have marvelous dinner at the Goose Cafe and Restaurant which centrally located on the Busselton benchfront.
On the 30th August, we checked in Metro Hotel. The strategic location enabled us to enjoy the beautiful views across the Swan River. In fact, the newly refurbished Metro Hotel Perth is an ideal accommodation for leisure visitors within easy access to the CBD.
As a vacation retreat, Perth gives Michelle and I the sensation of an exotic far away destination without the hassle of traffic or the expense of extensive travel. Without doubt one of the Australia’s finest and most luxurious private mansion retreats, Perth offers the finest in leisure and corporate facilities.
